Internship, Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead root‑cause investigations for defects and production issues; drive containment, corrective actions (CA), and preventive actions (PA)
Perform process‑focused FMEAs and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential failures
Analyze FPY, scrap, and rework data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Support process owners in developing robust manufacturing processes and standard work
Provide clear insight into product and process performance, including parts usage, quality drivers, and process adherence
Partner with engineering, supply chain, factory teams, and field/customer service to collect feedback and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into processes
Improve operational excellence through stronger feedback loops and data‑based decision making
Support training and coaching on quality methodologies and problem‑solving techniques
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Optical, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or similar engineering discipline
Candidates pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with at least 2 years completed
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BAAN, Oracle) is a plus
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on, pragmatic mindset
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive actions to closure
Ability to influence others and gain buy‑in for improvement initiatives
Effective communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment
Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills
Motivation to learn quickly, take ownership, and contribute to continuous improvement
Strong customer focus—prioritize quality, responsiveness, and professionalism
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Able to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines
Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and follow‑through
Ability to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements

Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with cross‑functional partners
Work according to established procedures while also identifying opportunities to improve them
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work
