Sportsman Boats is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer who will execute CI activities and events at the production level. This role involves improving manufacturing and operational processes, efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing yield.

Responsibilities

Lead 5S training, audits, and sustainment

Facilitate Kaizen/CI events

Conduct Value Stream Mapping with Operations support

Support structured problem-solving (A3/PDCA, 5-Why, Fishbone)

Support flow improvements, waste elimination, and takt-time analysis

Assist with line balancing efforts (Yamazumi)

Partner with Operations to implement pull systems and WIP management

Support development of Standard Work

Implement and maintain visual management tools

Participate in the CI audit program to sustain improvements

Work with Quality and Operations to reduce defects and improve FPY

Support ergonomic and safety improvements through Gemba engagement

Coach operators, leads, and supervisors on CI tools and methodologies

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and engagement

Qualification

Required

2–5 years' experience in manufacturing or CI/Lean roles

Experience leading 5S or problem-solving events

Strong communication and facilitation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to ERP systems

Ability to work collaboratively across functions

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt preferred

Experience supporting a Lean transformation or CI deployment
