Assistant Vice President, Civil Engineer - Facilities

Responsibilities

Perform site civil design including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management for facility projects
Develop design solutions using AutoCAD Civil 3D and terrain modeling tools to support 3D coordination and visualization
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and contractors
Support permitting and regulatory agency coordination
Assist with construction administration and respond to field questions as needed
Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to overall project success
Apply WSP’s quality management processes, including QA/QC reviews
Demonstrate sound engineering judgment while adapting and applying engineering principles, codes, and standards
Grow toward leading projects with guidance, mentoring, and oversight from senior engineers

Required

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
10 + years of relevant civil engineering experience
Ability to perform work requiring independent judgment, adaptation, and modification of engineering principles and procedures
Experience in one or more of the following: Land development, Municipal utility design, Water resources, Environmental engineering
Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrologic analysis, grading, and site development design
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing project needs
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to self ‑ manage tasks and deliver results
Interest in developing client relationships and understanding client needs

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Financial incentive may apply for California PE licensure
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation InRoads
Familiarity with stormwater modeling tools such as HydroCAD, HEC ‑ RAS, HydraFlow, or Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis
BIM coordination knowledge
Foundation design experience
Previous consulting engineering experience
