2nd Shift Technician - Generator Test Facility
GE Vernova is seeking a Balance Technician for their Generator Test Facility. The role involves performing high-speed balance on turbine rotors and generator fields, directing personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the high-speed balance on rotors and fields
Direct & aid bargaining unit personnel in the preparation of turbine rotors and generator fields for high-speed balance
Operate the generator test stand and balance facilities applying stringent regulations related to the safety of personnel, product and facilities
Utilize all computer equipment and instrumentation for checkout and control of facility systems in accordance with proper procedures
Audit and validate all data for completeness and quality
Initiate Quality Control Reports for out of specification test results per quality plan
Conduct an expedient balance program. Maintain the paperwork as required by the process being performed
Complete various assigned projects and special individual duties as required by the test technical leader and management
Responsible for carrying out the strategies and methods, and documentation as outlined by the Test Technical Leader
Aid in the maintenance of the databases for tracking bearings, adapter plates and related hardware and their current state of modification. Historical databases are also to be maintained for both setup drawings and setup instructions. Willingness to work extensive overtime, which could include long shifts and weekends
Experienced in the use of hand and power tools (required) (wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, etc)
Experienced in the use of electrical test equipment and instruments. (required) (multimeter, ohm meter, TC's, etc.)
Experienced in the use of machine tools (desired) (vertical milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, drill press
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in Technical, Apprentice Program Graduate, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years Experience with, and knowledge of, the principles of electrical and mechanical equipment
Strong grasp of physics, mathematics, hydraulics, computer & programming skills, six sigma methodologies, electrical & mechanical diagnostic techniques, safety, and environmental concerns
Experienced in the use of hand and power tools (required) (wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, etc)
Experienced in the use of electrical test equipment and instruments. (required) (multimeter, ohm meter, TC's, etc.)
Preferred
Proficiency in the use of computer systems and current office suite programs i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
Effective written and verbal communication skills
