Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 4 controls engineers (ranging from senior to mid-level) and potentially 4 test engineers/robot programmers
Provide hands-on technical support, including PLC programming, robot programming (Fanuc, ABB), and system troubleshooting as needed
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all automation and controls engineering projects from concept to commissioning
Interact directly with clients to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure project alignment
Mentor and develop junior engineers and programmers, fostering growth and best practices within the team
Review design specifications, control schematics, and software programs to ensure quality and compliance
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to integrate controls solutions into complex automation systems
Support production testing and validation, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope
Maintain documentation, standards, and change control processes for all engineering activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent)
10+ years of automation experience, with a strong background in controls engineering
Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and industrial robot systems (Fanuc, ABB)
Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
Preferred
Experience in automotive or heavy industrial automation strongly preferred
