2+ years expThe Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a professional to be part of our Cost Avoidance/Buy-In Unit. As an Accountant/Examiner 2, you will provide technical assistance regarding Medicare Buy-In and analyze error reports to ensure proper corrections are made.

Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance and information regarding Medicare Buy-In to county case workers, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Social Security Administration
Analyze various Buy-In error reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) by reviewing the data using various databases; submit reports to counties to make corrections
Review data using various databases (e.g. CMS, Social Security, FI, OBWP) to determine proper course of action to correct the Medicare Buy-In disputes
Under direction, review, examine & pursue (via mail, fax & internet), third party health insurance information in order to determine eligibility of payment by ODM
Qualification
Required
24 mos. exp. in position involving review & processing of claims, collections, billings, payments or review of documents for accuracy, completeness &/or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws or rules with exp. commensurate to duties to be assigned
Or 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting; 12 mos. exp. in accounting or other fiscal/financial activity
Or 12 mos. exp. as Accountant/ Examiner 1, 66111, with state government exp. commensurate with duties to be assigned
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
