SAS Programmer

The University of Miami is seeking a statistical programmer to join their Neuromuscular Program in the Department of Neurology. This role involves providing programming support for data cleaning, reporting, and analysis within a clinical and translational research group focused on therapy development for ALS.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies for real-time data QC
Conduct routine data checks to ensure data integrity and completeness
Write SAS macros and programs for data cleaning, reporting (e.g. tables, listings, figures), and the creation of analysis datasets
Assist in the design and implementation of procedures (e.g. via programming, restructuring of data files, expansion of database components) to improve efficiency and support growth of the research program
Perform statistical analyses defined in statistical analysis plans, as needed
Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a closely related analytical field
Experience in SAS programming
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail

Preferred

Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL) desired
Knowledge of SQL desired
