R&D Methods Engineering Technician
Vallourec - North America is seeking an R&D Methods Engineering Technician to manage testing instrumentation and ensure compliance with calibration needs. The role involves overseeing equipment calibration, generating kitting packages for testing projects, and training technicians, while also participating in troubleshooting and non-conformance investigations.

Responsibilities
Manage testing instrumentation, inventory and calibration
Manage equipment calibration needs. Replace instrumentation as needed to ensure that all test data is being recorded by compliant instrument
Support internal calibration of testing and prototyping equipment
Conduct calibration of make and break equipment, Combined Load Frame, OD and Wall scanner
Generate calibration certificates
Attend pre-production, schedule meetings and gather the required tool(s) for each test. Elevate concerns if tooling can not be ready on time
Generate kitting packages (required tooling) for upcoming testing projects
Manage testing tooling inventory (leak detection, pressure vessel, seals, test caps)
Generate drawing and specification for upcoming tooling needs
Source the material needed to build the tooling internally or coordinate with subcontractor
Follow up with subcontractor to ensure the tooling is being built to spec and is delivered on time
Create internal documentation to build our tooling internally
Inspect the tooling and perform audit to ensure that the tooling inventory is up to date
Manage tooling inspection and repair
Coordinate the repair to minimize impact on the testing scheduling
Analyze shop floor production problems and assist in troubleshooting, using root cause analysis methods
Train and assess technicians
Participate in investigation of non-conformance and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
Follow all company rules, procedures, policies, and safety rules
Any other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial environment
Ability to read blueprints
Forklift and crane operator
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to organize and prioritize workload and to meet deadlines
Ability to read, write and speak well in English and process strong analytical interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and execute instructions through strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be able to pass applicable testing as required
Preferred
Soldering experience preferred
Ability to create and to update CAD drawings is preferred
