Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data integration workflows using Talend Open Studio / Talend Data Integration / Talend Cloud
Build scalable ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various healthcare systems (EHR/EMR, claims systems, CRM, third-party healthcare services)
Optimize ETL jobs for performance, reliability, and reusability
Work with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD, X12 (837/835), and DICOM
Integrate data from popular EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Athenahealth, etc.)
Ensure proper handling and anonymization of PHI/PII in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Develop data models, mappings, and transformations for clinical, operational, and financial data
Collaborate with data analysts and business teams for requirements mapping
Perform data quality checks, cleansing, profiling, and validation
Work closely with solution architects, data engineers, QA team, and business stakeholders
Prepare documentation for ETL flows, architecture, data lineage, and technical specifications
Provide production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
Qualification
Required
3–7+ years of experience with Talend Data Integration or Talend Cloud
Strong ETL development knowledge with expertise in: Talend Studio components, Talend job orchestration, scheduling, and error handling, API integrations (REST/SOAP), Data quality and metadata management
Hands-on SQL experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift, etc
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), especially cloud data pipelines
Experience working with flat files, JSON, XML, HL7 messages, etc
Experience with healthcare datasets—clinical, claims, member, provider, encounters, etc
Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI compliance, and healthcare interoperability standards
Prior experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) is a plus
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Ability to work in an agile, fast‑paced environment with cross-functional teams
