Public Health Environmental Epidemiologist
The UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a Public Health Environmental Epidemiologist to provide epidemiologic leadership for the Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Tracking program. The role involves developing tools for data accessibility, conducting epidemiologic analyses, and collaborating with various stakeholders to disseminate findings related to environmental health.

Responsibilities
Assists in developing grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
Collects and analyzes increasingly complex research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures
Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, co-authors publications, and disseminates information to appropriate entities
Assists in maintaining environmental data surveillance systems, including CO poisoning or other notifiable condition
Trains individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area
Develops and implements increasingly complex research methodologies, procedures, and criteria
Reviews and edits protocols to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of work experience working in the field of epidemiology, with a preference given to areas of environmental health and/or public health
Experience creating, cleaning, and manipulating large datasets
Technical expertise in statistical analysis of data using SAS or R software to manage, analyze, and visualize data
Masters degree required (MPH or MS in Epidemiology)
Preferred
Experience using Tableau software for developing and maintaining interactive dashboards for data visualization
Experience writing manuscripts, scientific reports and/or grant-required reports
Experience providing consultation, education, or training on technical concepts in public health or a related field
Experience maintaining, developing, or evaluating surveillance systems that use health data
Experience communicating technical information to various audiences
