Start in 2026 SummerLam Research is a leading company in customer support for critical equipment and processes. They are seeking a summer intern to assist the Technical Training Virtual Reality team in developing immersive VR-based learning experiences using 3D modeling skills and industry-standard software.

Responsibilities
Learn to develop immersive, VR-based learning content utilizing industry-standard software
Work with industry standard 3D CAD software
Assist VR Team with annual updates to existing VR modules to ensure accuracy
Create and maintain a library of VR-ready models and re-usable VR-specific code and scenes
Troubleshoot VR hardware/software end-user issues both remotely and in the classroom
Work on special in-house projects during your internship
Qualification
Required
Junior or Senior Undergraduate Student (Bachelors) working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Game Design, or a related field
Available to intern for summer 2026
Preferred
Experience creating and manipulating large, 3D CAD models in Siemens NX, or Creo software environments
Experience with tools and environments such as: Unity, Unreal, Pixyz, Maya, Visual Studio, C++, C#, Python, Javascript and similar a plus
Experience developing instructional-based games in Unity or Unreal software platforms a plus
Expert knowledge of VR hardware and software configurations and standards
Knowledge of Meta Quest HMDs a plus
Knowledge of video and audio production software, such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, TechSmith Camtasia a plus
Knowledge of Lua scripting a plus
Strong visual and interaction skills
