Responsibilities

Assess current database environments and develop strategies to migrate applications to upgraded or cloud-based platforms
Plan, coordinate, and execute database migrations while minimizing downtime and resolving technical issues
Install, configure, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure stability and performance
Implement security controls including encryption (such as TDE), access management, and auditing to meet regulatory standards
Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support modernization and ongoing database operations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience on a year-for-year basis)
5+ years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA, including backup/recovery and performance tuning
At least 1 year of experience migrating application databases across different versions and platforms
Hands-on experience migrating application databases across versions and/or platforms
Strong technical expertise in T-SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and managing database roles, permissions, and encryption

Preferred

Experience implementing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) for data-at-rest security
Knowledge of database architecture principles, including schema design and normalization
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
