Responsibilities
Analyze customer orders, delivery dates, staffing levels, equipment capabilities, and inventory availability to develop actionable production schedules
Prioritize workflow to ensure customer deadlines are met
Adjust schedules as needed due to changing conditions (equipment breakdowns, delayed materials, etc.)
Integrate sales orders with the master schedule and coordinate equipment and staffing availability
Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling processes and reduce production costs
Prepare reports comparing expected vs. actual output and highlight areas for improvement
Schedule demand based on product mix and provide accurate lead times to the sales team in partnership with the Senior Production Scheduler
Assemble master schedule reports aligned with business, shipment, inventory, and production plans
Participate in capacity management during sales and operations planning and forecasting
Collaborate with purchasing to compare current and anticipated orders with raw material inventories and proactively communicate material needs
Alert relevant staff of schedule changes, delays, or capacity constraints
Participate in forecasting meetings and lead planning sessions with sales, purchasing, production, and shipping
Assist with capacity planning for the annual operating plan
Set up and maintain work centers and work groups in the ERP system
Track and report on-time delivery performance
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
1–2 years of related production scheduling or planning experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Demonstrated sound judgment and accuracy in work output
Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing demands
Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to interpret production and scheduling formulas
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
Preferred
Experience with production planning or scheduling software preferred
Prior experience in the window or building-products manufacturing industry strongly preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning workflows
