Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Process invoices, expense reports, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts regularly
Manage payroll and required reporting
Organize and maintain financial documentation and support audit readiness
Prepare monthly financial statements
In collaboration with the Executive Director:
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Develop and refine internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and other financial partners
Attend Finance Committee meetings
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
2–5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations
Familiarity with GAAP principles and standard accounting practices
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), work flow software (e.g., Asana), Excel, and Microsoft 365
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Background check required for this role
Preferred
Knowledge of grant accounting, including state and private funding
