Responsibilities
Provide technical support services for emerging Fleet Technical Assist (FTA) requirements, which are urgent and routine. FTA categories consist of:
Casualty Report (CASREP)
Combat Systems, Command, Control, Communications and Computer Readiness Assessment (C5RA)
Deploying Group Systems Integration Testing (DGSIT)
Inspection & Survey (INSURV)
System Grooms and Repairs
Technical Assistance (TA) Visits and Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA)
Combat Systems Assessment and Training (CSAT)
C4I System of Systems Operability Test (C4I SOT) Support
Perform system testing to evaluate performance and functionality
Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
Be willing to travel 25 - 45%
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Perform other duties as assigned
Provide technical assistance during onsite visits to US Navy ships and shore sites
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must have a secret security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment
Ability to read technical drawings
Four (4) years of hands-on experience with the following Tactical Data Links systems: Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS), AN/USQ-125(V) Link-11 Data Terminal Set (DTS), Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS), Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS)
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Travel Required
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test
Must be able to work outdoors, in labs, and onboard ships worldwide
Must be able to tolerate heat/cold
Comfortable working around exposures to hazards in shipyard type environments
Ability to work in low-lit areas for long periods of time
Must be able to respond to emerging requirements which may involve travel and/or extended work hours
Must be able to safely lift 40lbs
Must be able to carry tools and test equipment
Must be able to move around freely onboard ships and shore sites
