Responsibilities

Lead all phases of system software development, including analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation
Evaluate complex data and operational scenarios to identify solutions and anticipate issues
Conduct in-depth analyses of agency operational areas
Review and interpret application specifications, flowcharts, block diagrams, and related technical documentation
Develop and enhance moderately to highly complex system software based on broad functional specifications
Oversee installation, customization, generation, testing, documentation, and maintenance of system software not available through commercial vendors
Serve as the primary programmer/analyst for most projects, with the ability to act as lead developer on multi-personnel initiatives
Ensure proper integration of new system software with related systems, programs, and databases
Serve as the initial point of contact for users during development of new system software
Provide project management and coordination to support agency program goals
Plan short- and long-term activities, set priorities, and monitor progress to meet established timelines and resource constraints
Support staff in resolving complex issues and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
Assist in evaluating equipment and staffing needs and participate in annual planning for assigned agency areas

Preferred

Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff
A combination of education and experience may be considered for the right candidate
