Responsibilities
Design and operate scalable, secure infrastructure across on-prem and Azure environments
Architect and manage enterprise compute, storage, virtualization, and core services
Lead lifecycle management: capacity planning, upgrades, tuning, and decommissioning
Implement high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
Design and support advanced routing, switching, wireless, and segmentation strategies
Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs (site-to-site and remote access), NAT, and policy controls
Enforce secure configuration baselines and least-privilege access
Implement network segmentation, identity controls, and secure management plane protections
Partner with cybersecurity teams on vulnerability management and remediation
Integrate EDR and logging platforms (Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Log Analytics or similar)
Maintain centralized logging and monitoring for detection and response
Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance environments
Automate provisioning using Infrastructure as Code and scripting
Develop and maintain automation using:
PowerShell, Bash, Python
Terraform, Bicep, ARM
Ansible, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
Improve standardization and repeatability across environments
Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex infrastructure and network incidents
Conduct deep root cause analysis
Document designs, dependencies, security controls, and DR procedures
Provide structured knowledge transfer to operations teams
Qualification
Required
10+ years of enterprise Network Engineering experience
5+ years in security-focused networking environments
Experience in global, multi-site enterprise infrastructure
Virtualization experience (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
Strong cloud infrastructure operations experience (Azure-first or hybrid Azure)
Advanced TCP/IP
BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
VLAN, STP, LACP
Advanced routing, switching, and Wi-Fi protocols
Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Juniper
Firewall architecture and policy design
Network segmentation strategies
Secure remote access (site-to-site, remote VPN)
Azure landing zones and governance
Network identity and Azure networking
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint/Cloud
Sentinel / Log Analytics
Experience with NetScope or similar environments
Disaster recovery planning and execution
Hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation
Logging and monitoring best practices
Preferred
Experience in regulated or government-influenced environments (e.g., ITAR)
Strong documentation discipline (DR runbooks, failover procedures, configuration baselines)
Consultant mindset with strong initiative and ownership
Ability to communicate technical updates clearly to cross-functional teams
