Responsibilities

Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components, including but not limited to, general electrical systems and electrical feeders for municipal/industrial water and wastewater plant facilities, lift stations, motor starters, electric motors, pump control circuits, level controls, automation control circuits, instrumentation equipment, motorized valve operators, relays, transformers, and lighting equipment
Assist with installing all types of conduit, pulling wire and cable, installing junction boxes and enclosures, in accordance with National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) requirements
Build control panels using appropriate documentation as directed
Assist in performing troubleshooting duties on operational equipment, including but not limited to, taking volt and amp readings on live circuits

Required

High School diploma or equivalent
Four (4) years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work
Must have or obtain a valid Journeyman or Master Electrical license from the State of Texas within two (2) years of employment
For Water Reclamation, must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) and a good driving record OR must possess a valid Class C driver license with a good driving record and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six (6) months of employment
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations, as well as City of Denton policies and procedures
Skill in moderate problem solving; identifying moderate-to-complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Skill at the intermediate level, working with Microsoft Office 365, and other software systems to complete work
Skill in providing exceptional service to internal and external customers
Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, for the needs of the audience
Ability to lead and motivate others
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work environment to facilitate/accomplish needed activities
Ability to climb poles, work at heights greater than 30 feet, and work in enclosed spaces
Ability to perform pole top and bucket truck rescue and to follow approved DME safety rules and regulations
Ability to read, interpret, and construct new electric facilities from blueprints, work orders and/or follow feeder route switching orders
Ability to document all adjustments necessary and approved to complete the project
Ability to read, understand, and follow safety protocols and safe work procedures
Must have and maintain a valid Class 'C' Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment
Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification
Must pass a physical examination
Must have or obtain and maintain a valid Journeyman or Master Electrical license from the State of Texas within two (2) years of employment
