Payroll & Benefits Analyst

Responsibilities
Payroll
Payroll Processing including
Manage all payroll process for both Laurel Street and LSA Management
Timekeeping admin – ensure correct payroll for hourly employees including managing the approval process, missed punches, OT reporting, and all aspects of hourly employee time management
Respond to employees and managers to resolve payroll questions and discrepancies
Payroll training and reporting:
Provide Operations management with monthly reporting related to timekeeping, including turnover, attendance, tardiness, lunchtime, OT, and other time clock related concerns
Develop training to improve timekeeping input and management
Create Accounting reports for payroll management
Responsible for all data entry of changes related to employment, including pay, incentive, bonus, position, property assignments
Provide payroll, benefit, and HR onboarding for new hires, including benefit costs and coverage, 401K plan, I-9 process, and all new hire paperwork
Create new lease up and incentive plan documentation, managing the distribution of documents to eligible participants
HRIS system setup and maintenance
HRIS access level set-up and security
Manage and promote the employee Share & Perform system
Create and maintain documentation for categories, tracking, and reporting for certifications, training, etc
Track new hire LSA Management employees RealPage training submissions and follow up with Regional Managers on missing training
Provide education to employees to enhance their understanding of the organization’s benefit offerings and act as a liaison between the organization and benefit providers
Manage Employee Navigator for benefit enrollment for Laurel Street and LSA in coordination with the HRIS system and the broker
Manage and approve requests within the change in family status process for Laurel Street and LSA
Complete all ACA tracking, reporting, and annual distributions for Laurel Street and LSA
Manage COBRA process for LSA and Laurel Street
In concert with accounting, reconcile monthly benefit billing for Laurel Street and LSA Create employee engagement programs for wellness, financial support, mental health month, etc
Provide benefit support, program enhancements, and education to employees
Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements
Conduct Open Enrollment and weekly new hire benefit meetings to inform employees of benefit options
Increase participation in the 401K plan, conduct education meetings, while also maintaining procedures, and legal requirements to employees and beneficiaries
Process life insurance and AD&D claims
Coordinate upload of reporting information for the 401K testing process with our TPA, including census file transmissions
Assists employees resolve questions and problems by working with third-party providers and interpreting benefit policies and procedures
Manage the 360 processes for the upload of electronic files for health benefits, FSA, HSA, 401K, and all other benefits
Manage leave of absence process for LSA and Laurel Street, including personal leaves and FMLA
Complete the interactive leave process for approval of leaves and employee’s return to work
Send out required communications on the approval or denial of leave requests as FMLA requires
Process benefit payments for employees on leave
Communicate leave status with the management team, including scheduled return to work dates
Qualification
Required
three to five years of Payroll processing experience
A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications, or in a related field or equivalent experience with benefits, onboarding, and human resources
Proficient in HR systems
Knowledge of benefits packages, policies, and employee claims
Experienced in MS Office
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
