Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and achieving the location’s operating plan, analyzing, evaluating, and adjusting it to achieve established business objectives and action plans
Yearly operations budget planning and capital budget planning management
Aids in monitoring departmental spending to remain within budgeted guidelines
Lead by example in the implementation of the MNQ philosophy
Responsible for the collection and measurement of data pertinent to the preventative maintenance program and department activities
Focus on our customers’ needs by providing facilities, equipment, and services needed to achieve the production plan, and support the production of quality plants, ready for delivery when our customers want them
Explore and develop innovations and profitable new business opportunities within the nursery
Ensure that all departmental activities are carried out safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws
Effective communication, management, leadership, and training/development of a culturally diverse team

Assists in the effective purchasing process and use of requisitions for all purchase requests
Promote strong relationships with vendors, industry groups, and the community to promote the Monrovia Brand and to establish a strong industry network
Strong and effective communication with fellow Managers (Coaches) regarding any issues or concerns
Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the company as assigned

Required

At least 3 years' experience in facility maintenance or a similar position
Experience or knowledge in the repair of diesel and gas engines, building and land maintenance, construction, and metal fabrication
Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
Planning, executing, and meeting both company and project goals
Willingness to learn and implement Monrovia Nursery Quality standards
Accomplish work with minimal supervision, working independently in decision-making
Are Willing to engage in conversations on process improvement
Computer literacy is sufficient to access and use relevant programs. (Word, Excel, Oracle)
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with craftsmen, vendors, and clients professionally and effectively
Self-motivated, dependable, organized, flexible, and able to work with minimal or no supervision in a multitasking, fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and through written means
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate needs
Open to feedback, communicates well, and functions as required
Contributes ideas for improved organization in the work area and with the team
Can work safely; adhere to all workplace and safety policies and report unsafe conditions
Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail and number accuracy
Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain)

Preferred

Managerial experience with departmental planning, budgeting, and supervision of a multi-culturally diverse departmental staff preferred
Experience in preventative maintenance programs for large operations
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
