Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design and development for R&D programs
Own projects from concept through testing and refinement
Create CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation
Plan and execute prototype builds and test activities
Analyze test data and drive design decisions
Work directly with machinists and technicians during fabrication
Identify technical risks and propose solutions
Maintain organized engineering and test documentation
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5–10+ years mechanical design and development experience
Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks)
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Strong practical engineering judgment
Comfortable in hands-on shop and test environments
Extensive firearms industry experience OR significant independent technical involvement with firearms systems
U.S. person required due to nature of work
Preferred
Familiarity with ITAR/export-controlled environments
Defense or aerospace R&D experience
Precision machining and tolerancing
Materials and durability testing
Experience in concise, self-managed engineering teams
