Electrical Engineer (Generation Modeling)
The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Generation Modeling) to join their Transmission Grid Modeling organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying and improving generator modeling in accordance with industry and NERC standards, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Serve as point of contact for outside utilities and BPA organizations for the acquisition, analysis, and delivery of generator modeling information
Verify generator models and modeling parameters in accordance with applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards
Serve as a point of contact when working with BPA Customer Service Engineers, or customer utilities directly, to gather new or updated generator modeling information in support of basecase creation
Work as a team member in the Transmission Grid Modeling group to assist in resolving problems associated with utilities' data submittals for use in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) basecase development process for the NW control area which includes generator modeling parameters
Maintain the organization's Master Dynamics Database used to build basecases with updates received from both internal and external sources regarding generator and relay models
Qualification
Required
You must be a United States Citizen

Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

A Degree in Engineering leading to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET
Or a combination of Education and Experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service
Specialized experience in applying advanced electrical engineering theories, concepts, and principles sufficient to use, modify, or develop steady-state and dynamic generator models
You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement
