Responsibilities

Assess the current condition of a visual system and prioritize any necessary corrective/setup actions that may be necessary
Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications
Read, understand and interpret electronic schematics and written procedures
Utilize basic electronic test equipment, perform signal tracing, and have the aptitude necessary to understand advanced analog and digital technology
Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem
Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action
Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs
Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment
Maintains records of performance reports
Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer
Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers
Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers
Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments
Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products

Required

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electronics or electronic technology; Bachelor's degree preferred
Thirteen (13) years' experience
Must be familiar with how the visual system communicates with a simulator host computer and be able to resolve basic host-visual integration issues
Fluency in the software configuration of a visual system and ability to modify system parameters as necessary
Some knowledge of personal computer and UNIX operation is required
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance
