Electrical Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

The LEGO Group is seeking an aspiring engineer for a Summer Internship in Boston in 2026 to help redefine the future of play. The intern will work with senior engineers to debug electronic subsystems, assist in investigations, and communicate technical findings to the engineering team.

Responsibilities

Debug and measure the performance of electronic subsystems, with the support of senior engineers in the design and test of printed circuit boards
Assist in root-cause investigations by debugging circuits, collecting sensor data, and performing "bench tests" of features that are critical-to-Play
Partner with Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Firmware teams to develop protocols for testing system integration
Take initiative by proactively identifying tasks in alignment with project goals
Communicate technical findings, test procedures, and project landmarks to the broader engineering team

Required

Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or related engineering program
Hands-on experience with soldering and using lab equipment such oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators
Familiarity with electrical schematics, circuit board layouts, and electrical design software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCad
Fundamentals of analog and digital designs building blocks such as passive components, transistors, op amps, logic gates, and clocks
Basic understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART
Ability to apply fundamental electrical concepts in breaking down technical challenges into their building blocks for root cause analysis
Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with global design hubs in Denmark, London, and Singapore
A builder with passion for creatively using technology as a vehicle to deliver truly incredible play experiences to children around the world!
