Responsibilities
Optimize and Maintain Network Infrastructure: Oversee the health and performance of MoDOT's network systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and maintain accurate documentation of configurations, policies, and procedures
Drive Team Accountability and Workflow Management: Establish processes for tracking productivity, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate progress and priorities to IS leadership
Build a Strong Team Structure: Define roles and responsibilities, develop succession plans, and anticipate staffing needs to ensure long-term sustainability and operational continuity
Champion Cybersecurity: Enforce security policies, monitor for threats, and implement proactive measures to safeguard MoDOT's data and systems. Educate end users on best practices and respond swiftly to security incidents
Lead and Mentor Your Team: Set clear expectations, foster open communication, and promote accountability. Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition while encouraging professional growth through training, cross-training, and skill development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, AND six years of progressive experience in information systems, OR Ten years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems
Strong leadership skills
Technical expertise in networking and security
Ability to plan for sustainability through succession and training initiatives
Ability to collaborate with vendors, coordinate with other IS teams, and work closely with business units
Preferred
Experience with Cisco networking, security and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP)
Experience leading a team, projects, or supervisor experience
Excellent communication, planning, time management, organizational and leadership skills
Ability to lead a team, provide direction and take forward-thinking initiative
Ability to collaborate with varying levels of professional staff, consultants, and stakeholders
