Responsibilities
Maintain glassware; maintaining logs and record books; troubleshooting and resolving problems; helping with special projects
Provide and maintain glassware by ordering, receiving, and inventorying, picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing amongst labs and keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt of new equipment
Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps
Complete projects by assisting project team and by attending and participating in group and project meetings
Responsible for purchasing new supplies as needed
Qualification
Required
Ability to make proper chemical solutions, culture bacteria, make media, and maintain equipment and supplies in a laboratory
Preferred
Experience in preparing laboratory materials for teaching college level classes
