POST DOCTORAL FELLOW - Sleep Neurobiology - Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems, UMKC School of Science and Engineering
The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join their team in the School of Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will be involved in characterizing newly identified sleep-promoting neurons and will utilize various research techniques related to neurobiology and genetics.

Responsibilities
Employ a variety of techniques, including Drosophila genetics, behavioral assays, confocal microscopy, live-brain imaging, and neural circuits mapping and manipulation, to identify the molecular mechanisms used by VNC-SP neurons to regulate sleep as well as their presynaptic inputs and postsynaptic partners
Take a leading role in this research project, regularly present their progress, publish their findings, and participate in conferences
Qualification
Required
A PhD or equivalent in biology, neurobiology, neuroscience, or genetics or a related field
Preferred
Previous experience with Drosophila genetics and neurobiology, confocal microscopy, and live-brain imaging is desirable, but not essential
