Akkodis is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer for a contract with a client in San Jose, CA. The role involves managing Unix/Linux server installations, developing automation scripts, and implementing system security controls to support secure and scalable cloud platform operations.

Responsibilities

Manage Unix/Linux server installations, configurations, patching, and troubleshooting across Suse, AIX, RHEL, and CentOS environments
Develop automation scripts using Bash or Python and leverage tools like Ansible to streamline deployments and configuration management
Execute Unix system builds, patching activities, and lifecycle maintenance using RedHat Satellite, IBM NIM, or SUSE Manager
Troubleshoot networking issues by applying strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, connectivity flows, and distributed system behavior
Administer virtualized environments including VMware and OpenShift, supporting VM provisioning, cloning, migration, and remote operations
Implement system security controls, OS hardening practices, and compliance standards to maintain secure platform operations

Required

Having bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, or a related technical field

Candidate must have solid scripting and automation experience using Bash or Python, along with operational knowledge of tools such as Ansible, VMware, or OpenShift
