Supervisor - Custodian

Responsibilities
Supervises assigned custodial and maintenance staff including evaluating performance, scheduling time, training employees, hiring new employees, and completing and approving timesheets
Responsible for implementing vendor cleaning contract including developing, coordinating, and scheduling cleaning contract employee work assignments
Inspects buildings within the city checking for cleanliness, adequate supplies are available; opens work orders for maintenance issues; assigns work orders and closes work orders when work is completed. Issues employee badges as needed
Conducts routine building/facility inspections to ensure work being performed by cleaning crews and contractors meets standards; investigates customer complaints, ensuring complaints are addressed and corrected
Orders supplies, paper products, and chemical equipment; stocks and keeps an inventory of supplies at the warehouses. Updates and maintains SDS (Safety Data Sheets) in all City Buildings
Resolves cleaning issues as they occur, maintains a budget, and coordinates with vendors regarding supply needs
Handles records for employees and vendors; communicates with vendors and other departments throughout the city to resolve issues; maintains cleaning standards; researches janitorial portion of supplies, makes budget for equipment
Schedules and monitors third-party contract for facility maintenance services
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
At least three (3) years of experience in custodial work
Must possess a valid Class C driver's license
Preferred
Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader preferred
