Responsibilities
Lead the technical design and execution of high-impact projects with significant business and customer value
Drive architectural decisions for scalable, performant, and maintainable systems spanning frontend and backend
Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and designers to align technology with customer and business needs
Act as a technical mentor and thought partner across teams; elevate engineering practices through code reviews, design guidance, and knowledge sharing
Shape DevOps practices and contribute to automation, observability, and operational excellence
Proactively incorporate AI solutions into technical workflows to drive development efficiency and product innovation
Qualification
Required
10+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in full-stack web application development
Expert-level fluency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js), API design (GraphQL/REST), and backend systems
Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems
Previous ownership of complex technical domains or product surfaces
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to org-wide technical strategy
Demonstrated use of AI tools in software development (e.g., code generation, testing, observability)
Preferred
Experience in e-commerce or media-rich platforms
Knowledge of Shopify ecosystem
Exposure to real-time systems and personalization at scale
