California Department of Justice is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to provide training and conduct quality control reviews of background eligibility checks. The role involves developing processing procedures, conducting research, and working closely with law enforcement and other agencies.

Responsibilities

Provide extensive, initial training to new Crime Analyst Is (CA I) in various units
Conduct quality control reviews of 10% of background eligibility checks made by CA Is
Assist with developing Quality Assurance Unit processing procedures, workload tracking logs, and unit statistical reports
Provide one-on-one training and group refresher trainings to CA Is and other Bureau of Firearms staff
Act in a lead capacity to resolve complex criminal and firearm record related issues
Provide direction and assistance to staff on workload processes
Conduct research and work directly with law enforcement and other government agencies
Work with the Application Development Bureau information technology staff to develop, test, and implement system enhancements to databases
May be required to work mandatory overtime and may not be granted time off during November and December

Required

Extensive training experience in a relevant field
Ability to conduct quality control reviews of background eligibility checks
Experience in developing processing procedures and workload tracking logs

Experience in conducting research and working with law enforcement and government agencies
Ability to work with information technology staff to develop, test, and implement system enhancements
Willingness to work mandatory overtime and not take time off during November and December
