NSW Technical Project Manager

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a NSW Technical Project Manager for the Applied Research Laboratories. This role is responsible for managing multiple Naval Special Warfare projects, including overseeing project execution and coordinating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with SWD engineering team to develop, document and execute detailed technical execution plans, maintain schedule of critical development and testing events, and measure and status progress towards meeting those critical development events to supervisory chain
Oversee SWD project execution, including fabrication, integration, at-sea testing, and support of undersea sensing and communications technologies
Assist SWD Program Managers with staffing by identifying personnel resource needs, identifying candidates, interviewing, and hiring full-time engineering staff members
Prepare & present written reports, PowerPoint slides and other graphical media of test event details and results to internal and external project stakeholders
Other related functions as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, engineering management, or similar technical field
Five years of project management experience
Demonstrated experience developing and leading technical projects
Three years of demonstrated experience in managing engineering teams
Experience planning, developing and executing technical project plans across a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and technical staff
Demonstrated ability to document, maintain and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position
Employment will be contingent on selected applicant submitting application for access and receiving notification of eligibility within a time period to be specified in the job offer
If eligibility is confirmed within the specified period, employment must begin within 30 days of confirmation of eligibility
Eligibility for access to classified information must continue without interruption during employment

Preferred

Master's degree in related field
Seven years of related experience
At least five years of demonstrated experience in technical project management
Experience with high-frequency SONAR or other underwater sensor systems
Prior military or defense system development experience
Experience with Department of Defense acquisition processes
Experience working with classified information systems
