Epitec is seeking a Quality/Test Engineer 3 who will be responsible for researching, designing, and executing automated test strategies to validate embedded systems and software features. This role focuses on automated test design, Python scripting, validation planning, and defect resolution within an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute automated test plans for embedded systems and software features
Develop Python-based automated test scripts to validate system-level functionality
Analyze test results and propose solutions when features fail to meet test criteria
Perform issue triage, troubleshooting, and defect resolution in collaboration with engineering teams
Interpret system-level feature design documentation to create effective validation strategies
Utilize datalink test equipment to support feature and system validation
Support validation plan development and execution in an Agile sprint environment
Coordinate with global teams across machine, systems, software, and validation disciplines
Contribute to quality standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support safety-critical feature validation when applicable

Required

5–7 years of relevant experience required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required)
Strong automated test design experience
Strong Python software scripting for automated testing
Ability to propose and implement solutions when features fail test criteria
Experience writing test plans from system-level design documentation
Hands-on experience with datalink test equipment
Ability to work effectively in a results-oriented Agile environment
Concise, clear writing style
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred

Functional Safety (FuSa) knowledge
Safety of the Intended Function (SOTIF) knowledge
Experience working with detect sensors
Exposure to robotics or autonomous systems
Embedded systems experience (C++, Linux, GitHub)
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams
