Assembly Line Leader Evenings 2:00-11:00pm Creekside Cleanroom

The Assembly Line Leader oversees the operation of assembly lines, coordinating the work of assemblers and technicians to meet production targets while ensuring quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Pace the production of their assigned assembly line: understand the line’s desired cycle time and coordinate the work of those assigned directly to the line — and assigned to support the line — in order to achieve production targets
Understand the production schedule and production targets: work directly with Planning and Scheduling to ensure a clear understanding of production demand
Assign assemblers to assembly line workstations, during each shift, to ensure assembly line is staffed with trained employees and capable of meeting production demand
Communicate staffing and training needs — including trends in staffing and training needs — to Assembly Team Supervisor, so they can provide appropriate quantity and trained personnel
Able to perform the processes at each workcenter within their Assembly Line, when needed, by maintaining up-to-date training on all workstations within their Assembly line
Communicate all material needs for their assigned Assembly line to Inventory Control: escalate any material disruptions or shortages as needed
Communicate and escalate all equipment needs (both upcoming preventative maintenance and equipment outages) to Production Technicians, Automation Technicians, Calibration Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers to minimize the potential for production interruptions and reduce the duration of acute or ongoing issues
Review incoming Work Orders and prepare for production; review applicable Quality Alerts, Deviations, and other non-standard process requirements to ensure they are followed and their impact to throughput are managed and minimized
Review production documentation records, ensuring they are complete and accurate
Communicate and escalate any product quality or record issues with Quality Control
Directly oversee Work Order and product changeover on their assigned assembly lines, minimizing the duration and potential for issues of these changeovers
Reviews of the performance of various “internal providers” (including, but not limited to, Assemblers, Assembly Team Supervisors, Inventory Control Associates, and Production Technicians): provide regular written performance reviews of assemblers assigned to their assembly line
Provide feedback and identify opportunities for process improvements that will improve the effectivity or throughput of their assigned Assembly line
Assess team member skill levels, ensure appropriate training has been provided and maintained, and coach team members to develop a high level of cross-training
To ensure the efficient operation of our business, you may be required to work overtime as needed in addition to your regular work schedule. Overtime may include work outside your normal scheduled days

Qualification
Required
2 to 4 years of experience in a lead role in a manufacturing environment or 3 to 5 years executing the manufacturing process, preferably in the medical device or other regulated industry
High School Diploma or GED
Excellent communication and motivational skills, both written and verbal
Initiative and hands-on ability to stand on the line all shift watching every operation step, pacing the line and open attitude to covering any open position to hit goals and to promote strong teamwork
Outstanding organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to lead by example, gain respect from team and communicate with clarity while demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities
Good computer skills: experience using ERP/MRP preferred, familiarity with MS Office suite is required
Knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the production equipment to be able to communicate equipment issues to technicians and engineers
Expert knowledge in all aspects of their Assembly line and LSI's standard assembly processes (including, but not limited to, assembly processes, inventory control processes, and quality control processes that affect their Assembly line)
