Data Collector - School of Public Health (Bilingual)
UTHealth Houston is a leading institution in healthcare education and innovation. They are seeking a Data Collector to support a research study aimed at increasing access to fruits and vegetables among low-income pre-diabetic patients in Houston's East End, involving both in-person and remote interactions with study participants.

Responsibilities
Contacts study participants to schedule interviews in the research study, usually by telephone
Interviews and establishes rapport with study participants in order to encourage complete accurate responses and continuing participation in the study. Works in the field and over the phone, going to homes. Conducts interviews in an environment, which may be dirty, have unpleasant odors, or be in generally unfavorable locations or weather conditions
Decides methods of tracing participants (map tracing, phone and address verification, check public records), how to conduct interviews (whether some questions are inappropriate), and whether callbacks are necessary to get further information while coding
Tracks all calls and data collected in partnership with research study team
Project manager or principal reviews work
Utilizes the equipment as trained by project manager or principal in order to obtain the required information
Codes and edits information for research projects for entry into database
Handles administrative details (ex. time and effort reports, mileage reports)
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma
Two years related experience with emphasis on public contact. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement
Bilingual in Spanish, highly preferred
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas
