Analyst/Sr Analyst, Safety Assurance & Monitoring

The role involves supporting safety initiatives, monitoring control effectiveness, and participating in the development of an overall analytics plan for Safety.

Responsibilities
Support Safety initiatives through measurement and analysis of key performance metrics using statistical process control, trend analysis, and time-series methods to detect emerging risks and quantify improvement
Identify, document, and maintain safety risk controls for escalated hazards across operations, mapping controls to specific processes, roles, and exposure points
Monitor control effectiveness through data analytics by assessing signal vs. noise, stability, and effect size, and flag degradation or non-compliance
Establish Safety Assurance KPIs and thresholds (e.g., control adherence rates, detection-to-correction cycle time, recurrence after corrective action) and manage alerting/notifications when thresholds are exceeded
Design and publish data visualizations and scorecards in Tableau or Power BI that communicate control performance, leading indicators, and residual risk to leaders, risk owners, and frontline teams
Participate in the development of an overall analytics plan for Safety and lead highly visible projects across multiple business partners to support the plan
Act as the data expert and main point of contact for safety assurance and analytics requests in your area of expertise
Drive continuous improvement by testing alternative controls, quantifying impact, and verifying sustainment using pre/post analytics
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related quantitative discipline; or equivalent experience/training
2 years of experience with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases
Experience pulling and manipulating data using SQL and/or other languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS, Databricks, etc.)
Experience using Tableau or Power BI
Advanced aptitude in problem-solving, including the ability to logically structure an appropriate analytical framework
Strong project management skills, including expertise managing projects across departments
Experience delivering presentations and leading collaboration across all levels of management
Excellent leadership and teamwork skills with proven ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple complex deliverables
Preferred
Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related quantitative discipline; or equivalent experience/training
Advanced knowledge of Tableau or Power BI
Experience in Python or R
Experience developing data solutions on a Big Data platform utilizing tools such as Databricks and Spark
Aviation industry experience or airline related project history
