Cybersecurity Intern
North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to provide practical work experience in business IT and Operational Technology cybersecurity. The intern will learn about cybersecurity tooling, conduct assessments, and assist in the cybersecurity program while being guided by experienced professionals.

Responsibilities
The intern will report to the Director of Cybersecurity and will also work with the Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to perform daily duties related to monitoring and response of alerts received
Training will be provided on tools used and how to respond to tickets and clear them upon completion of work
Beyond responding to alerts, the intern will assist with reviewing cybersecurity assessments and assisting a new assessment and needed mitigation under the guidance of the Director of Cybersecurity and the Sr. Cybersecurity Analyst
Qualification
Required
Actively enrolled in a Cybersecurity or approved Computer Science Degree program with an emphasis on Cybersecurity
Enrollment in an accredited university
Work experience completed at the current point of the degree program enrolled
General understanding of computer hardware and software
Understanding of the importance of securing information within business systems
Strong desire to expand knowledge and understanding around all things related to a formal cybersecurity program
Natural desire to be proactive when recognizing security gaps
Desire to work with a team
