Advanced Electrical Engineer
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation. The Advanced Electrical Engineer will develop and modify electronics, analyze and design circuits, and integrate and test electrical hardware to support mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities
Develop new and modify existing electronics in the form of PCB designs
Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including analog signal conditioning and communication interfaces
Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware
Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems
Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies
Generate design and interface documentation
Design cable assemblies
Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire
U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred
Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases
Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS
Experience in analog and digital circuit design
Experience with lab equipment including signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, and digital logic analyzers
Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout Team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc
Strong documentation and communication skills
Experience with firmware or microcontrollers a plus
Experience with VHDL/Verilog a plus
