The role involves providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and owning functionality from design through launch in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Lead analysis, design, development, and delivery of backend software solutions
Develop, customize, and test applications to meet integration specifications
Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical training to team members
Own functionality end‑to‑end from design through production launch
Plan, design, and build technical solutions aligned with established standards and best practices
Adapt and produce technical artifacts and documentation required for project delivery
Contribute ideas to enhance development standards, governance, and engineering processes
Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools
Participate in proof‑of‑concept initiatives and support technology selection
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product, architecture, QA, and operations
Support deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities
Work effectively within a matrixed, globally distributed engineering team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Extensive hands‑on experience leading backend development efforts
Strong communication, relationship‑building, collaboration, and organizational skills
High energy, proactivity, attention to detail, and ability to thrive under pressure
Advanced experience with Java
Strong background in object‑oriented analysis and design using design patterns
Advanced experience with Spring and Spring Boot
Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with JSON
Experience with web services and microservices architecture
Experience with Angular
Strong knowledge of Apache and Tomcat
Experience using Maven for build management
Strong proficiency with JUnit and test automation frameworks
Experience with SOAP UI
Experience with Log4j
Experience deploying to cloud platforms such as PCF or Azure
Experience working in Agile development environments
Experience with digital payments such as P2P or disbursement systems
Ability to lead end‑to‑end functionality design, development, testing, deployment, and optimization
Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, and ability to take on complex technical challenges
Preferred
Additional years of hands‑on experience across all required technologies
Strong leadership capabilities including mentoring, decision‑making, and managing development activities
Experience influencing architectural decisions and engineering strategy
