Responsibilities

Design and develop software applications independently or within a team
Troubleshoot and solve complicated software issues
Perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the lifecycle of software development (agile)
Clearly and regularly communicate with management, technical support colleagues and business units
Design, create and update new and existing SQL databases
Analyze and integrate new technologies with existing applications to improve the design and functionality of applications
Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
Create test cases for new and existing applications
Serve as a subject matter expert in key business projects
Conduct code reviews
Direct/mentor some level I and II developers
Write Clear and Detailed Technical Specifications and Documentation
Perform any other duties as required to ensure Health Plan operations and department business needs are successful

Required

Seven (7) years of experience developing multi-tiered applications
Seven (7) years with SQL Server development
Five (5) years of experience with software architecture and design concepts
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience transforming requirements into Design Concepts and ERDs
Experience in web service development across multiple protocols (SOAP, REST, WSDL, JSON, MSMQ)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
Strong comprehensive understanding and knowledge in database structures, theories, principles, and practices
Strong comprehensive understanding and knowledge in professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Strong comprehensive understanding and knowledge in software development languages: C# & Java
Strong comprehensive understanding and knowledge in web UI development (JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, and HTML)
Strong comprehensive understanding and knowledge in SSIS and SSRS development
Strong comprehensive understanding and knowledge in applicable data privacy practices and laws
Highly skilled in developing and optimizing T-SQL (DDL, DML, DCL) queries with MS SQL Server 2016
Strong troubleshooting skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong technical documentation skills
Good interpersonal skills
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Proven ability to be highly self-motivated and self-directed
Proven ability to show keen attention to detail
Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Preferred

Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred
Healthcare systems and healthcare databases is preferred
