Responsibilities

Conduct theoretical and physical testing on design models to validate concepts
Develop detailed BOM’s, specifications and assembly/work instructions
Select appropriate materials and design the product manufacturing process, integrating best practices
Develop and implement production processes for new product launches, transitioning smoothly from prototype to mass production
Manage pre-production budgets, timelines, and milestones to ensure timely and on-budget completion of projects
Oversee the integration of new parts into the ERP system, including Bill of Materials (BOM), routings, and labels
Ensure that products meet rigorous safety and quality standards set by the company and regulatory bodies
Oversee assembly processes to ensure compliance with market specifications and safety regulations
Implement corrective actions and improvements based on feedback and testing results
Coordinate with production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes
Monitor production schedules, resolve bottlenecks, reduce waste, and optimize resource allocation
Utilize project management tools and methodologies to keep projects on track and within budget
Lead efficiency and quality improvement projects, achieving measurable improvements in production output and reducing defects
Develop core tools (PFMEA, Control Plans) to ensure process reliability and maintain high product quality
Ensure compliance with applicable product industry standards
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Product Managers, operations, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and reduce waste
Promote a safe work environment by adhering to and advocating for rigorous safety protocols
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and ergonomic guidelines

Required

Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in the safety apparel or related industry
Advanced analytical skills, with proficiency in CAD and CAM software is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Strong understanding of industry and market trends, particularly in safety equipment manufacturing
Applicants must have valid authorization to work in the United States for any employer and must not require, now or in the future, visa sponsorship or visa transfer

Preferred

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred
Relevant training and/or certifications in Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma are advantageous
