Responsibilities
Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments. Performs a variety clerical duties including routing patient reports, as appropriate. Assists in scheduling patient procedures, assembling charts and maintaining patient flow. Maintains responsibility for accurately and responsively performing routine assigned clinical tasks of limited complexity
Documents patient care performed including vital signs, bedside care and observations. Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living and provides assessment data to Registered Nurse (RN). Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN. Requires minimal independent judgment
Maintains state of readiness by maintaining equipment/supplies appropriate to the position. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment. Makes decisions regarding own work, often limited and confined to routine matters
Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care. Observes, documents and reports patient condition, and changes to condition, to the RN and/or Physician/Provider
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
Preferred
Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Preferred
Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification: Preferred
