Responsibilities
Development, preparation, checking and/or coordination of designs, design drawings, and other documents for plant electrical systems, or components in accordance with applicable codes and standards
Responsible for preparing electrical power system design including equipment, cable tray, conduit, conduit duct bank, grounding, lighting and lightning protection layout drawings and 3D modeling
Reviews vendor design documents to ensure conformance to design requirements
Provide on-site support during construction, startup, and checkout
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, clients, suppliers, and contractors to produce integrated and effective designs
Define project scope, provide schedule input, create material takeoffs, and review fabrication drawings
Efficiently and effectively resolve engineering related issues
Qualification
Required
High School Graduate or equivalent is required
Proficiency in AutoDesk Suite and Microsoft Office products required
3D design experience is required, preferably within heavy industrial facilities or new construction projects
3D modeling experience is required
Experience developing physical design including equipment, cable tray, conduit duct bank, grounding, lighting and lightning protection layout drawings and 3D modeling
High level of initiative and ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute assigned work
Effective oral and written communication of technical topics
Self-starter and strong problem-solving skills
Customer focused with a willingness to meet the needs of our customers
Electrical Design codes and standards
Preferred
Additional technical training is preferred (technical school)
Associate degree is preferred but not required
Experience with scope development, schedule input, material takeoffs, and fabrication drawing review is desired
Experience with gas combined cycle, coal powered, and hydro plants designs is a plus
