IT Software Programmer IV

ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory and an enterprise of the University of Utah. They are seeking a leading contributor to software development projects who will perform software programming and other software development lifecycle activities, helping to design and operate high-throughput systems that transform sequencing data into diagnostic results.

Responsibilities

Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs
Adheres to ARUP’s enterprise software development policies and departmental software development processes
Maintains expertise in applicable software development tools, techniques and environments
May help establish ARUP software development practices
Helps or mentors other project team members
Facilitates the architecture and design decisions for their team
Other duties as assigned

Required

Extensive experience and expertise in basic programming concepts within standard architectural patterns
Experience with and proficiency in advanced architectural patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM)
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture
Knowledge of SOLID programming concepts
Understanding of application security
Ability to establish ARUP software practices
Experience in software programming and software development lifecycle activities (requirements, design, test, documentation, 2nd and 3rd level support)
Ability to plan and accomplish goals relying on experience and judgment
Ability to lead and direct the work of others
Proficiency in primary stack including React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, C#, .NET, RESTful and GraphQL microservices
Ability to review, analyze, and modify programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs
Adherence to ARUP's enterprise software development policies and departmental software development processes
Maintaining expertise in applicable software development tools, techniques and environments
Ability to help or mentor other project team members
Facilitation of architecture and design decisions for their team
Ability to perform physical requirements such as stooping, reaching, mobility, and fine motor control
Effective communication with others
Compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures

Preferred

Familiarity with MongoDB
Familiarity with AWS or another Cloud
