Design and develop foundational components of the Cosmos DB platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance at global scale
Drive architectural improvements that enable elasticity, high availability, and low-latency operations across distributed systems
Collaborate across teams to integrate Cosmos DB with Microsoft's broader data ecosystem and deliver seamless customer experiences
Lead technical initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring solutions align with long-term product and organizational goals
Continuously improve operational efficiency through automation, observability, and proactive performance tuning

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts
Experience with cloud-native architectures
Background in capacity planning and resource utilization strategies for multi-region deployments and high-availability systems
