Responsibilities
Performs services on the Utilities Monitoring and Controls System (UMCS) for monitoring and controlling HVAC, fire/life, safety, security, energy, and utility systems in a variety of facilities
Conduct scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting tasks such as tightening contacts and connections and replacing fuses, resistors, and analog boards as needed
Use a line analyzer to measure voltage settings on analog boards; use a decade box (resistance simulator) to check sensors and calibrate analog boards; and use a digital VOM fluke to adjust voltage within 1/10,0000th of a volt on analog boards
Operate hand-held H2T test simulator or laptop computer on Field Processing Units to bypass keyboard controls while in field to adjust or alter set points and use a Field Loading Device 101 or laptop computer to replace software programs
Enter facility schematics of system locations which provide a graphic representation for identifying a problem source
Use mnemonic codes for calling up field data points and enter values and status elements that establish the parameters or command the UMCS to monitor each field data point
Qualification
Required
Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrotonic Industrial Controls Mechanic without more than normal supervision
Demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position
Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license
This position has a lifting requirement of up to 40 pounds
This position requires a pre-employment physical and annually thereafter
Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period
