Associate IT Systems Support Specialist

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a working relationship with Lab Owners, IT Teams and Management
Update the physical inventory of lab equipment, PC’s, software and any other information pertinent to the environment
Collaborates with client’s project management team to assure a seamless migration
Migrate computers and software per the PKI Windows 10 documentation
Document procedures, policies, troubleshooting and best practices
Coordinates and works with outside vendors, with migrations
Maintain daily project related communications with the Windows 10 team
Participate in daily project scrum meetings
Listens actively and communicates promptly and effectively with users and the Windows 10 management team. Provides timely follow-up
Escalates migration issues to the project manager
Professionalism, excellent listening skills, superior analytical skills, great verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage one’s time with minimal supervision to achieve objectives

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional deskside experience
Demonstrated Leadership abilities and be achievement oriented
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be customer service orientated and believe in teamwork, collaboration, adaptability and Initiative
Problem solving skills to resolve issues
Bachelor's Degree with 3 plus years' experience in deskside support or lab IT environment OR Associate's degree with 3 plus years' experience in deskside support or lab IT environment OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 plus years' experience in deskside support or lab IT environment
Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests
Ability to troubleshoot Lab IT desktop technology issues
Ability to identify, track and complete tasks for multiple projects under prescribed timeframes
A proven self-motivational work ethic with the ability to work independently, manage time and schedule workload to meet deadlines and customer needs
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented and able to follow written documentation for task execution
Ability to multitask and support various groups of users
Experience in a Deskside support
Experience with Lab IT support of scientific instrumentation
Experience in Life Science environment
Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory
Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high
Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite
Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools, or controls, which will require regular bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching in order to perform in a service function
Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds)
Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position
Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations
Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing, and labeling hazardous waste
Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to, extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals
May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment
