Research Scientist, Quantum Error Correction
Google is seeking a Quantum Research Scientist to develop quantum error correction schemes for fault-tolerant quantum computing. The role involves developing and analyzing QEC for modular architectures and contributing to the wider research community through publications and collaborations.

Responsibilities
Develop new quantum codes that achieve high encoding rate, high distance, and/or favorable layout in hardware. Important examples include LDPC codes and yoked encoding schemes. Adapt error correction circuits to hardware constraints on connectivity
Analyze fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical operations
Simulate quantum codes under noise models and evaluate performance
Qualification
Required
PhD degree in Quantum Computing domain, such as Math, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Research publication experience in quantum error correction
Preferred
1 year of experience owning and initiating research agendas
