Responsibilities

Manage the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and deployment of Cisco networking equipment, to include Cisco integrated services routers, Cisco aggregation services routers, and Cisco switches
Plan, configure, test, and implement new network architecture elements associated with LAN/WAN expansion and existing customer base augmentation
Provide configuration and administration support for data center assets
Manage inventory control documents and life cycle maintenance schedules associated with operational equipment
Provide administration, maintenance, operations, and customer support to Microsoft Windows workstations, VOIP phone, and video teleconferencing (VTC) equipment
Receive, transport, load, and configure communications security (COMSEC) keying material for secure communications equipment
Provide feedback and guidance in developing solutions to unique mission requirements involving replacement, upgrades, and augmentations to existing communications capabilities
Document standard operating procedures, routine tasks, updates to systems information in manuals, diagrams, reports, and flow charts
Assist directly in logistics operations pertaining to acquisition, receipt, relocation, and deployment of equipment

Top Secret/SCI clearance must currently possess
Top Secret/SCI clearance must be able to obtain
8 + years of related experience
US Citizenship Required
Must have an active CCNA certification
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to articulate complex mission information to members of U.S. Government's leadership
Capable of establishing and cultivating friendly relationships with partner agency personnel, third party equipment providers, and sibling programs internal to FEMA
Self-sufficient and capable of maintaining required operational tempo when working autonomously or with minimal supervision
Available for travel within the continental United States for periods of time up to two weeks in support of mission activities

Preferred

Firm grasp of IP routing and switching technologies with special emphasis on carrier ethernet architecture, 802.1 Q-in-Q switching, and multiprotocol label switching/dense wavelength division multiplexing (MPLS/DWDM) transport capabilities
Firm understanding of OSPF routing propagation and spanning-tree switching technology
Firm understanding of network protocols such as ICMP, IGP, BGP, FTP, SSH, DNS, SRTP, SIP, and DHCP
Understanding of authentication technologies such as RADIUS and TACACS+
Familiar with Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, Windows active directory, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
Knowledge of site design and equipment integration based on established deployment operating procedures and requirements
Knowledge of generally accepted standards pertaining to technical writing/documentation associated with operational requirements documents, standard operating procedures, and quick reference guides
Knowledge of administration of ESXi hosts and VMware virtual environments
Experience in troubleshooting complex communications problems using specialized testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR), bit error rate testers, network traffic analyzers, and packet inspection equipment
Knowledge of general principles of electrical circuits, fabricating and splicing of electrical connectors, and testing electronic equipment using digital multimeters
Understanding of solutions procurement process to include assessment of alternatives, requirements analysis, budget restrictions, and implementation constraints
