Responsibilities
Lead design of:
Medium and low voltage power distribution systems
Service equipment, switchgear, paralleling gear
Emergency and standby power systems
Lighting and advanced lighting controls
Fire alarm and special systems (design oversight)
Perform detailed:
Load calculations
Short circuit and coordination studies
Arc flash studies
Develop:
Single-line diagrams
Riser diagrams
Panel schedules
Technical specifications
Interface with Con Edison on service applications and approvals
Ensure compliance with:
NYC Electrical Code
NYC Building Code
NYCECC Energy Code
Participate in client meetings and high-level design presentations
Oversee construction administration and respond to RFIs
Mentor junior engineers and review design work
Qualification
Required
MUST HAVE MEP DESIGN EXPERIENCE
6+ years of NYC electrical design experience
Strong experience with high-rise or large commercial projects
Deep knowledge of NYC codes and DOB filing processes
Proficiency in Revit (production-level competency)
Experience with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
Comfortable leading meetings and defending design decisions
Preferred
PE (NY) preferred or in progress
PE (NY) preferred or actively pursuing
